A long time ago in a burrow not too far away…
Emerging from their burrow in the High Desert of Central Oregon, the friendly rock chucks Chuck and Rocky listened carefully.
“Do you hear anything?” Rocky asked.
“Nothing that rocks,” Replied Chuck.
“I guess we’ll have to leave our home to find the music we want.”
So, the two friends started traveling. They went to heavy festivals across the country.
“The Midwest has some great festivals,” Rocky chirped.
“Ya, but those cheese curds made me sick,” said Chuck. “What about Florida or the Southeast? I hear there’s big boats there we can rock on too! “
“Cmon Chuck, you know it’s too humid, I can’t keep my mohawk up. And the motion sickness, BLEGH What about the Southwest? It’s drier there.”
“Are you kidding, Rocky? Tornadoes are scary!! I’ve heard California is Nice?”
“Maybe, but so many people….”, they lamented.
“Ya, you’re right. You know what, we may just have to do this ourselves…”
“Right here at home in Central Oregon! “
“There’s not too many people, the weather is always nice(almost), and so many great local bands and beverages!!”
“LET’S DO IT!!” They exclaimed together.
And so it began: Deschutes River Rock Fest in Beautiful Bend, Oregon, near the Deschutes River, Cascade Mountains, and all the amazing craft beverages you could imagine.
